What are the alternatives to traditional wedding gift lists?

Couples have got lots of options when it comes to putting their wedding gift lists together.
I recently received an invitation to a friend's nuptials and with it came a wedding gift list for a high street department store.
In my opinion, these are a great way for couples to actually make the most of their ceremony and get some presents they actually need when they tie the knot.
But it seems as though my friends are one of a dwindling number of couples who want pot and pans or traditional household items on their wedding day.
Research carried out by thewineweddinglist.co.uk has shown that 35 per cent of people now ask for vouchers or money towards their honeymoon.
Only 12 per cent want crockery and one-third are now going for alternative wine gift lists, which could really help them to celebrate in style!
I think these are some great ideas for people who have already set up home together and don't need more kitchenware when they marry.
They could even go for a charity gift list like the one available from Oxfam Unwrapped if they are feeling particularly generous.
