Kristen Bell shows off her engagement ring

American actress Kristen Bell offered conclusive proof of her recent engagement to Dax Shepard by sporting some dazzling jewellery at the Grammys.

Photographers were quick to notice the eye-catching Neil Lane-designed ring as the 29-year-old star graced the red carpet at Sunday's ceremony in Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for Bell confirmed to People magazine that she became engaged to actor Shepard, one of her co-stars in the new romantic comedy When in Rome, over the Christmas holidays.

The publication gave the ring its seal of approval, describing the three-carat emerald-cut piece as "gorgeous" and suggesting that it bodes well for Bell's choice of wedding dress.

"We can only imagine what a gorgeous wedding gown this red carpet favourite will pick out!" the magazine stated.

Of course, most girls would love to announce their wedding plans with a designer engagement ring, but what if financial constraints will not allow such an ostentatious piece?
