Sophie Dahl 'planning New Year wedding'

With Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum reportedly set to tie the knot soon, I started thinking about New Year weddings.

Christmas and New Year alone may be exciting enough for some people, but this does not seem to be the case for Sophie Dahl.

The model and her fiance Jamie Cullum are reportedly planning to tie the knot at the beginning for next year and want a winter wonderland theme for their big day.

It is thought that the wedding venue will be Lime Wood - a country house in Hampshire - and the wedding flowers will consist of blue eucalyptus with white roses and black hypericum.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, an insider said: "Sophie has planned every last detail of the wedding. She and Jamie are so excited but they are trying to keep everything under wraps."

I think the idea of a winter wedding sounds wonderful. Although it may be a busy time of the year to get everything organised, I think it would be worth it, especially if people are still in a good mood after the festive season.

If January is too soon for some couples then I think they could still have a wintery-themed celebration in February and hold it near Valentine's Day. I don't think there could be a more romantic way to get hitched.

Does the idea of a New Year or holiday themed wedding appeal to you?
