Are simple wedding dresses better than fairytale gowns?
When Kim
Kardashian was spotted in a wedding dress this week eyebrows were,
unsurprisingly, raised.
However,
the reality TV star was simply trying on the gown worn by her mother when she
tied the knot with Bruce Jenner.
It seems as
though her sister Khloe, who recently married LA Lakers star Lamar Odom,
branded the frock ugly and so Kim was keen to reassure her mother that the
dress was not that bad.
She told
USmagazine that it was "the perfect fit" and the ensemble included
billowing sleeves and a floppy hat.
This got me
thinking about wedding dresses and how trends have changed over the years.
I'm sure
there are still some people who want to wear an extravagant fairytale frock on
their big day, but I think more and more people are choosing sleek and
slim-fitting strapless gowns.
Often these
are chic and simple and instead of being covered in elaborate embroidery and
lace.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress -
do you want lots of layers and material or is a simple bodice and fitted skirt
more your thing?
