Jennifer Bell

Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Are long engagements the way forward?

Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch are not set to tie the knot anytime soon, but is it better to be engaged for a long time?

Footballer's wife Abbey Clancy has revealed that she is unlikely to be tying the knot anytime soon.

It was rumoured that the Wag, who is dating England and Tottenham Hotspur star Peter Crouch, could be donning a wedding dress and walking up the aisle next year.  However, People.co.uk has reported that because of her boyfriend's World Cup commitments in South Africa, this is unlikely to be the case.

Speaking to the news provider at the recent Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year awards, Abbey said: "We have both decided to have a long engagement - we're going to wait a while now. We're just waiting for the right time."

This got me thinking, is it better to have a long engagement or are whirlwind weddings better to capture the romance and excitement of the occasion?

Although some couples may be keen to plan their wedding carefully, others may be too excited about the prospect of a new life together to delay the ceremony.

Have you been engaged for a long time or are you too eager to say "I do"?
