The best kinds of wedding entertainment
Mark Owen has revealed that he is to provide his own music at his wedding reception next month by joining his band Take That on stage to perform.
Speaking to Contact Music, the 37-year-old, who is set to cut his wedding cake with long-term girlfriend Emma Ferguson, revealed: "The lads aren't supposed to be singing at the wedding but I don't think I'll be able to stop them after a few drinks. I'm nervous but I can't wait."
This got me thinking about the all-important entertainment at a wedding reception.
Many brides and grooms-to-be dream of having their favourite band perform at their bash but most budgets usually prevent this from being a viable option - especially if the band in question is world famous.
A tribute band is always an option - especially when they come recommended through the grapevine. I myself have seen some very convincing acts in the past, including T-Rextasy, The Cureheads, BC/DC and Jean Genie - a David Bowie tribute. These are the kinds of bands that book weddings and make the reception electrifying.
Pulling off a reception that every single person who received a wedding invitation will enjoy is essential to it being an overall success - and the key to that is hiring a good all-round DJ with nothing but non-stop classic party tracks.
