Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

The importance of hiring a reputable wedding photographer

Following news that a newlywed couple from Pontefract successfully sued their wedding photographer for breach of contract, I got to thinking, what do you do if your pictures of the big day are ruined?

Marc and Sylvia Day were satisfied with a measly 22 out of 404 pictures taken by professional photographer Gareth Bowers in a package that cost them a massive £1,450.

They took Mr Bowers to court and sued him based on the fact that the majority of their pictures were either out of focus, obscured, not straight, too light or too dark - and they were awarded £950 in compensation.

While this win will sound encouraging to most couples currently in the throes of wedding planning who are concerned about hiring a professional, I can't help but think it isn't good enough.

Money aside, Marc and Sylvia have no official documentation of the biggest day of their lives.

Pouring over a beautiful wedding album is one of the best ways to relive the experience, but now the new husband and wife will have to rely on amateur pictures taken by family and friends.

To ensure this kind of travesty doesn't happen to you, be sure to hire a photographer who comes highly recommended from family and friends!

What would you do if your wedding photos turned out to be a disaster?
