Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Holding a wedding party days after tying the knot

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker and his new wife Danielle Bux tied the knot in a quiet civil ceremony in Italy earlier this week that cost them just £400. As if that wasn't quaint enough, they had just two guests present as witnesses and chose to spend the day alone.

That may not sound like the true Wag fashion we have become accustomed to with luxurious wedding venues and over-the-top wedding cakes, but the day that followed their nuptials fits the mould perfectly.

They hosted a lavish reception at an extravagant five-star resort with 50 of their closest friends and family in attendance, which is reported to have cost £250,000.

So this got me thinking, who says the wedding party should be straight after the ceremony? Why not break with tradition and do things your own way?

Gary and Danielle were able to spend their special wedding day alone together, giving them time to relax and unwind. Away from the glare of countless guests, they enjoyed a romantic and intimate day, and were then able to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to party.

Holding the party and cutting the wedding cake a day after saying I do also spreads out the occasion, making it last longer!

Would you consider doing something like this for your wedding celebration?
