Age gaps - how big is too big to wed?
Although they have been repeatedly denied, rumours are continuing to circulate around Hollywood that movie giant Morgan Freeman wants to tie the knot with his step-granddaughter E'Dena Hines. She is the granddaughter of his first wife, yet he and his second wife - from whom he is now estranged - reportedly raised her from a young age.
We have all accepted that Tinseltown is a bit weird, especially when it comes to marriage, but isn't this controversy just a tad too shocking?
When Woody Allen married Soon-Yi Previn, the world's media leapt on the story. She was his former partner Mia Farrow's adopted daughter and he reportedly helped raise her from she was seven years old. That caused a major scandal in Hollywood, no less because Previn was only 22 at the time they cut their wedding cake, while Allen was 56.
However, at 72, Batman star Freeman is a massive 45 years older than the woman with whom he is allegedly in the throes of wedding planning.
They may be unrelated biologically and with grandfather-granddaughter relations aside, I still think the age gap is huge. I'm not one to say that age can determine how one person feels about another, but surely it has some kind of impact.
