Angelina wants to wed 'to ward off relationship rumours'

Months of speculation that her relationship with Brad Pitt is on the rocks have finally taken their toll on Angelina Jolie and driven her to take measures that she would not have otherwise considered - marriage.

The actress is so determined to put on a united front for the press that she is considering throwing herself into wedding planning to deflect any more negative news that the pair are in trouble. And poor old Brad - he is reportedly ecstatic about it.

Now don't get me wrong, Angelina is one of the most beautiful women in the world and having recently been named Forbes' most powerful celebrity - she has got to be one of the best catches in Hollywood. But, would you want to marry someone purely because they want to prove the world wrong? I know I wouldn't.   

A source close to the couple told the Daily Mirror: "Usually it's Brad who wants to talk marriage, but this time it was Angie.

"An aide sent them all the press clippings about their 'relationship problems' and she said it was probably best if they married to put an end to the stories."
