Would celebrity gatecrashers liven up your wedding?
When I imagine my own wedding, I sometimes think it would be great to be joined by some of my celebrity acquaintances to celebrate the big day.
Kate or Jennifer maybe, Brad or George perhaps? They would certainly add some glamour to the occasion - not that my wedding will be short on style!
They would, of course, only attend after receiving suitably classy wedding invitations. After all, A-list celebrities would not gatecrash a wedding party.
It seems, however, that some stars from further down the celebrity hierarchy are prepared to do just that - Top Gear's middle-aged but laddish presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May, for instance.
The duo interrupted Mark and Angela McCole's reception at Edinburgh's Balmoral Hotel when they popped in for a few beers after filming one of their famous motoring challenges.
Apparently the newlyweds were delighted and invited the television presenters to appear in their photos. The groom even changed his wedding speech to let guests know that Clarkson had told him to shave his beard off.
If someone gatecrashed my wedding and was then rude to my other half, I'm not sure I'd take it in such good spirit - however famous they were.
Still, if uninvited guests do arrive, perhaps it is better to have Clarkson and May than Hollywood actresses. At least there would be no chance of the motoring fanatics looking better than I did in my wedding dress.
Who would you let get away with gatecrashing your wedding reception?
