This piece is made up of 10", 8" and 6" cakes, iced in sugar paste. All features are made from modelling paste, except the bulb work which is royal icing. Inspired by a groom struggling to find an ALL WHITE nautical wedding cake. The anchor symbolises security and stability in marriage and partnership. The gold rings and rope symbolises the Bride and Groom and their lives entwining together. The boat wheel represents steering their way through life's paths. The sailing boats represent their sailing interest. The bulb work imitates the rocks / sea bed, painted with white pearl dust.

I love my 'Tumbling Snowball Cake' which was filled with 4 tiers of rich chocolate sponge and chocolate ganache. This was my first wedding cake and is also is one of my favourites. It was when we had freak snow and very nearly didn't make it to the venue! Quite a few didn't make it but glad to say the bride & groom did and were delighted! Everywhere looked like a winter wonderland and very much in theme with the day the swarovski crystals sparkled like the fields and trees surrounding the venue. A truly magical day!

Sarah and Tim's Wedding - This was my first wedding cupcake tower. An elegant ivory tower topped with a Victorian fruit cake and full size sugar rose. Each vanilla cupcake has an individual fondant rose which are coloured to match the bridesmaid's dresses.

Country Rose was created for a couple who wanted a cake that was elegant, simple yet still had the wow factor. The simplicity of the cascading roses speaks for itself (just as the beauty of nature does) and I think the cake has an incredibly chic feel.

I made the Pink Cascading Rose Wedding cake for my wedding in 2009, it was a 3 tiered fruit cake decorated with hand crafted roses and lilies. The roses cascade down the cake along with icing that looks like silk material, this is enhanced with edible glitter for extra sparkle. I received so many wonderful comments from friends and family telling me I should start my own business that I did. This cake is now my 'signature cake' and is my company logo.

I called this cake Summer Vintage Romance. The design was inspired from a birthday card I bought recently. Most wedding cakes that I make are either white or ivory so I thought it would be nice to ice it in blue for a change. I love making edible roses, I've had plenty of practice! Most of my cakes have either a vintage or romantic feel to them, probably as this is the type of style I like the most. The cupcakes match the cake in style and colour, you really can have the best of both!

An image of this cake sprang into my head as soon as the couple said they'd eloped to New York. On Manhattan (22" cake) sat the Chrysler Building, Empire State building, Flat Iron, and Times Square etc complete with personalised advertising billboards. The scale model edible buildings were kept intentionally white and dusted with edible white glitter, as it snowed on their wedding day. A 2D icing skyscraper backdrop stood behind, and in front, on poured sugar glass ‘water’ sat the Liberty Island cutting cake with keepsake Statue of Liberty. The entire cake was suspended over fairy lights.

This cake was for a wedding in Woburn Abbey, the bride and groom wanted a cake that was 'simple' but had wow factor and they wanted it to be tall to hide Apollo's aherm 'modesty'. The couple were thrilled with their cake on the day. It comprised of 5 tiers, one fruit and the other 4 sponge (limoncello, sticky toffee, chocolate fudge & ginger & cinnamon). The cakes were covered in an ivory icing and were decorated with piping work. The decoration also comprised of over 700 individually crafted icing flowers.

I chose this cake because it is different, elegant and simple. A big challenge to combine lego with glamour, elegance and simplicity while making it wonky. The cake was about 20" tall and the biggest tier was 13" round. middle a 10" and top a 7". The most difficult part of this cake was to make a fruit cake wonky which was a success. Working with modeling chocolate was another challenge but I was able to create big roses. The figurines are not edible and the chocolate balls are not maltesers, but chocolate paste.

For one of my largest ever wedding orders I was asked to make 300 cupcakes to tie in with the couples paisley theme. After their consultation the couple decided on a mixture of strawberry and champagne with a jam centre, lemon with a lemon curd filling and chocolate flavoured mini and regular cupcakes. The purple paisley decorations were embossed and handcut and the colour was exactly matched from a swatch of colour from the sari's the bridesmaids were wearing. The other designs included embossed fondant cupcakes with a pearlescent sheen and sparkly hearts. I really enjoyed making this!

This was taken at the ceremony of a spring wedding and shot in Portsmouth last year. The bride and groom scrapped the traditional walk down the aisle and opted instead to surprise the congregation with a brilliantly choreographed dance routine involving the bridesmaids, groomsman and parents to the tune of Fatman Scoop’s ‘Put your hands up in the air’ which really set the fun tone for the ceremony and the rest of the day. I love the movement in the shot, sense of fun, composition and the reaction of the congregation.

I have so many favourite photos so it’s really hard to pick just three, but I love this image from a recent wedding I photographed in the Bedfordshire countryside. The couple were so incredibly sweet and comfortable with me and I had this idea for the bride to hug the groom and rest her head on his back - it worked so incredibly well - this photograph makes me smile and feel so relaxed.

Whilst driving on Northampton country roads behind the wedding car to the reception venue I noticed a small clearing in the trees. Franticly waving down the driver we drove back and shot 30 minutes of couples portraits in a freshly cut corn field. I was lucky because my clients were as enthusiastic as me about the prospect of bridal portraits in such a gorgeous location. This frame perfectly sums up the mood of the day, it was actually one of the few un-posed shots taken that afternoon summers afternoon. Its become iconic of my style and the way I work.

This is a modern take on the intimate bride and groom shots. Using Off Camera lighting, this gives a real "fashion" feel to the pictures that mirrors what brides see when they look in bridal magazines. It gives them the chance to shine. This is one of my favourite images, and works as a set of 3 to really show off the bride's dress as well as being an intimate picture of the bride and groom.

The couple in this photo are mad about biking so it was crucial that I got an good shot with the bike involved. I immediately knew I wanted them both straddling the bike to demonstrate it's a joint hobby and also it forces them close together which gives this image an intimate feel emphasized by them kissing. I also tilted the camera to make the bike look level and create the sloping line of the wall in the background to add energy to the image. I added the vintage colour wash in my post processing as they are big fans.

I had the honour of doing my brother and sister-in-laws wedding flowers. A real celebration of my new business venture. I used grand prix roses added with green hypericum for texture, surrounded by asapargus ferm and finished off with trailing ivy wrapped around the bouquet.

The main image is a hand tied bouquet. The brief was to use mixed colours, and I decided to choose an autumn palette. The flowers are 'Cherry Brandy' and 'Grand Prix' roses, yellow tulips with ivy and lady's mantle. My aim was for a 'warm' flower bouquet for a bride having an autumn wedding. I chose the lady's mantle, yellow tulips, and the variegated ivy to match up the yellow tones. The ribbon handle was picked to blend with the 'Cherry Brandy' roses.

A hand tied design using Crystal blush Calas, Avalanche roses with diamonte pin heads inserted, bouvardia, crystals threaded on grasses with philodendron xanadu creating a collar to the outside edge of the bouquet. The bride wanted a contemporary yet traditional elegant all white and green bouquet with hints of crystals to co ordinate with her wedding gown. I took into account the height and size of the bride and the style of her dress. Using different flower head shapes, sizes and textures creates good visual interest. The crystals allow for light reflection adding a little sparkle to the overall design.

These flowers were for a function before a July wedding, and the brief was fresh and modern, with a burst of colour to offset the room. The focal point is obviously the gorgeous Cherry Brandy roses, which are framed beautifully by the white lisianthus and ruskus leaves. The simple, modern design worked well in the surroundings, and the orange really 'popped' against the pale green walls. The tables were very narrow, so I made sure I designed something that wouldn't get in the way of dinner!

Image one was taken by the up and coming wedding photographer Naomi Kenton and will be featured in Wedding Flowers Magazine in October. I wanted to use mostly British grown country blooms, including green bell, which has set the trend this summer and has been used by many florists to give that vintage country feel. I wanted to create a large, just picked bouquet, that was perfect for an outside wedding. I also used snap dragons, which everyone loved as I really believe they envoke lots of childhood memories for most people. It really did looked amazing on the day!

The main image is a hand tied bouquet consisting of white hydrangea, upper secret and amnesia rose with blue magic vanda orchids finished with lace and a vintage brooch to match the bride's bracelet. This colour theme continued with both the church flowers and venue arrangements. A bold choice of colours for a bride which really paid off!

This handtie uses the lovely pink heaven rose, a very popular rose for bridal bouquets. The white freesias and gypsophilia add a touch of complementary colour as well as a hint of fragrance. The dark green collar finishes the bouquet perfectly giving it definition and framing the wonderful pink roses, especially important in the wedding photographs. The ends of the stems are left uncovered to complete the simple but stylish look.

I have chosen this picture as my main image to show that something unique and creative can be made from minimal materials, I hand curled the wire to fit from the brides finger up to just below her elbow and wired in callas and diamonte feathers for effect... this was used in place of a bouquet as my brief was, "I want something different and eye catching to complement my non traditional wedding". I love offering something different that stands out!!

This is a candelabra table centre design for a photoshoot using roses, miniature roses, chrysanthemums, carnations, eustoma, stocks and amaranthus. I was working with a wedding photographer friend whose partner owns a marquee hire company as a joint project to promote all of our services! I love working with pastels and candy colours and the way that you can sometimes elevate blooms which might be quite humble alone by using them in combination with other colours and textures. It was the first time I'd used a candelabra and it was nice to be able to go to town on it!
