  • cooled boiled water out and about...

afternoon ladies! We have just started giving sarah cooled boiled water from a tommy tippee cup on recommendation of the doc as she hs prone to getting tummy ache and won't take a bottle. At the moment this is an 'at home' activity as she generally ends up very wet but she is improving and soon I'm going to want to be taking her drinks when we go out. The cup is free flowing so I can't carry the water in that so what can i carry it in?! I assume it needs to be sterilsed or it negates the point of boiling the water and sterilising the cup so what can i use? Or can I jusr use an empty water bottle?!

    TIA!

    Looby

I never sterilised Abigail's cups, only bottles. I've got a free flowing Tommee Tippee cup that the spout folds down on so I just use that if i'm taking a cup out with me. I've also got some that have caps that go over the spout to stop leaks - these were non spill ones but I just took the valve out to make them free flow. I think I bought all of them from Tesco.

Oh and you only need to give cooled boiled water until 6 months, after that tap water is fine!

thanks ally! Didn't realise I could stop using boiled water in a few weeks! That will make life much easier if I can just use the tap whereever we are!

I'd put it in a sterilised bottle for transportation then pour into the cup when needed.

I never sterilised her cup, we started giving water from around 4 months due to a spell of very hot weather.

You can buy free flowing cups with a fold down spout when out and about. We have a couple of the TT ones, but Tesco have ownbrand ones too I noticed the other day for about £2 each.

Oh, and yes, from 6 months you don't need to use cooled, boiled water and can just use tap water.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?
