  Contact Hmmm.  Looking for positive stories really. I remember the 4 month growth spurt that my son went through well; it was an extremely difficult period and perhaps the most tough time for all us all when he was a baby.  My daughter is 3 months old and is a much more settled baby than he ever was.  I know I am very lucky - she feeds like a dream and started sleeping through the night at 7 weeks old (which she has consistently done every night since then).  I'm really worried that come the 4 month growth spurt it will all go wrong.  Does anyone have any positive stories for me to cling on to about babies who either didn't need to feed all night or ones who did but then when it was over quickly reverted to sleeping well?   Thanks!

Although there have been nights he has been up with illness, his sleep wasn't interupted by any of the growth spurts. Hope this helps to reassure you!

  Noggin Joined on 23-Jun-2003 Herts Posts 2,049	Contact K, like your daughter slept through consistently from 7 weeks and I don't ever remember any GS's with her at all.  A who is now 7 months has only slept through twice, I think for a perhaps a week she fed maybe once more in the night around the 16 week mark. Either way, we weren't affected too much! - May 07 - August 09

  travellinggirl Joined on 28-Aug-2005 United Kingdom Posts 944	Contact Oh thanks so much for the positive replies!  The thing about sleep is that once you get used to it, the idea of it being taken away is not good!  I wonder if whether they are breast or bottle fed does make a difference?  My daughter is breastfed but my son (who's 2 now) was bottle fed.  Not sure what that says!

Both girls fed a lot more during the day (pretty much constantly for 2 days) but slept through the night and were fine a couple of days later. The 6 week one was the worst She has never slept through the night and usually wakes once for a feed, sometimes twice. She can go much longer between her feeds in the daytime, often 5 hours. If only she could do that at night
