  • Inspire me - Days out in Kent/Surrey (SE)

It's DS's 3rd birthday tomorrow. The weather looks like it's going to stay nice as well.

I'm trying to think of somewhere reasonably local to take him (I'm on Kent/Surrey borders). Last year we took him to Godstone farm and he loved it. I don't mind taking him back there, and I'm sure he'll love it just as much, am just wondering if there is anywhere different within an hour's drive that we could try?

    TIA Thanks

If the weather is nice, how about Hever Castle? Fab grounds, a water garden (take a change of clothes), boating...

Hever is roughly 10 mins from our house so we have a season ticket, it's worth it for the playground alone.

Not sure I should go in a boat with bump, if I managed not to capsise it just by getting in, Greenpeace would soon be circling looking to rescue and release me into deeper waters Laugh

How about the British Wildlife Centre at Blindley Heath, on the A22 near Lingfield & East Grinstead?

What about the Museum of Kent life? Meant to be fab!

    Or Leeds Castle? x

Farming World at Faversham is great - indoor play area/painting/massive outdoor play area/crazy golf/lots of animals.

If you don't mind going a bit further, you've got Howletts/Port Lympne. Or even a bit further still is Colchester Zoo. I went there last week on a trip with school and will definately be heading back there with Cara. I got to feed a giraffe!

Museum of Kent Life is nice, but it's not as big as Farming World. They have an indoor play area, an outdoor one and some animals.

Diggerland? Not been here, so can't say what it is like (despite it being 5 mins from me!)

    Leeds castle.

Hope this helps a little and you have a great day where ever you end up.
