  Max2607 Joined on 04-Feb-2009 Manchester Posts 4,148	Contact Palladium or platinum will be the best. Avoid white gold - it scratches if you so much as look at it!! (but you can get it re- rhodium plated so not all bad. Palladium is cheaper than Platinum but a very very good metal.xx

  Jumbly Girl Joined on 30-Mar-2009 Posts 995	Contact Tungsten carbide - it's one of the most durable metal compounds and value for money too (way cheaper than palladium and platinum).  Jumbly Boy's ring is made from this and he's a chemist and has been very excited about using a hammer and drill on his ring and nothing happening....

  Charlotte12 Joined on 25-Feb-2010 Posts 36	Contact platinum or palladium will do well. basically what happens with white gold is that rhodium, the metal mixed in to make it shine gets rubbed off. This can be retouched in a jewellers although this is a bit of a hastle, especially with something you will wear all your life. Hope that helps xx
