vistaprint - place cards?

hey all,

ugh just can't sleep so been putting my time to good use doing weddingy stuff. has anyone ordered place cards from vista print? i can't seem to find them on the site (found to difficult to find the STD magnets!) so not sure if they do them. am not arty at all and seen some pretty ones in confetti ( http://www.confetti.co.uk/product/view/63223-8646-0-Silver_lasercut_butterfly_place_card___10_pack_Place_Cards_for_Table.do ) so might just buy those. but have a feeling vista print will be cheaper if they do them. any thoughts?

Meeting with a florist this week and guess am supposed to have lots of ideas...but am so indecisive.

Our theme is a sage green sort of colour and i know i want to keep the flowers green, white/cream and a hint of a v pale vintage pink but as for the style of arrangments am clueless!!!! i know i want a few sweet peas, not many tho as a memory of my grandad,

any of you lovely hitched ladies have any inspiration for me?!

The BMs gift bags arrived

I ordered canvas bags from Vistaprint for my BMs instead of using a normal gift bag to give them their gifts in.

They are the perfect size (I worried they would be too big) and I got the 1st one free and the second for 49p - only had to pay the postage.

Can anyone reccomend any good wedding magazines, i've been very good (so far) and only bought two but can't get over the difference between them, one is a handbag size mag cost only 2.99 and is packed with ideas (Wedding Ideas) the other cost me £4.90 (you and your wedding) and despite being twice the size and twice as thick seems to be one big long book of dress advertisments and very little content wise.

Can anyone out there reccomend any other good wedding mags?

Receiving Line

Another dilema for you....

My Mum and my OH Mum desperatly want us to have a receiving line and want to be in the receiving line.

I dont really like them - i am not a kissy cuddly person and i dont want everyone messy up my make up by giving me big sloppy kisses!

However i do think its a nice idea to have one so we get to thank everyone for coming blah blah blah!

So who should be in the receiving line?

My OH's parents have broken up and now have new partners - do they need it be in it?

Can the bride and groom just be in it alone?

Videographers in Edinburgh Area

Hi everyone, been lurking on here for a while getting equally amazed at how helpful you are and terrified about how disorganised I am!

Have finally plucked up the courage to ask for advice - can anyone recommend a videographer in the Edinburgh area? We're having a small wedding in a hotel so don't really want a lot of bells and whistles, and we're not having a formal reception, just a quiet sit-down dinner so we're not too keen to pay ~£1000 for just a few hours, you know? We're getting married in 8 months' time so know that time is against us!

Anyway, any advice gratefully received!

This is my new fave dress at the moment! I only have the product code and not a name for the style. (unless anyone knows it?). I am going to ask my local maggie stockist if they have the sample to try on I think but I am really scared to ask about the price! I dont think I'll be able to afford it, and was going to get my dress from China.

What do you girls think of it? I am not sure how stretch satin would fit though..

Using ipod speakers for cermony? HELP!

Hi all

We are getting married in Gozo in July and there will only be about 12 people. The planners have quoted us 400 Euros for :

Generator for outdoor venue -70 Euro.

Music (+DJ) for ceremony - 165 Euro. (I queried the DJ part for the ceremony but they said it was a sound technician or something).

Music (+DJ) for reception - 165 Euro.

I really think we can save money here by maybe buying an ipod speaker station and just using our own music for that and for the ceremony. That way we'll have them as ours and can use them for the rest of the holiday around the pool etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether this would work? I haven't heard these speakers myself but do you think they would be loud enough?

OK, so done lots over the past week or so and thought it was time for a flash! Hmm, what to show first....

Jewellery - my mum bought me these for christmas so thought I would save them for the wedding as they are lovely!

OH's best man! ...we went to get the suits the other weekend, would flash OH but it think ill save that for the wedding report! The pic isnt great as the bits arent really his size and under the jacket he will have a pink waistcoat, but you get the idea.

And, finally, the one you've been waiting for...my shoes!! ...

Phew, i think thats enough flashing for one day!

...Which in turn means we now have a colour scheme! Wooo...not bad going for 5 months before the wedding

I originally wanted champagne BM dresses but found that a lot of them in that shade were really light so it was almost veering towards ivory a bit too much. So instead I've gone for a slightly darker shade, it's like a light cappuccino really but has a goldy sort of finish too (if that makes any sense!) So we're going for that with lots of creams in the flowers, and we're also going to include lots of different orange shades too as I think that will set off the colours really well and give it a bit of a summer feel.

Definitely feel as if things are coming together now!

Anyone else done anything weddingy this weekend?

Those of you with young children...

What is happening with the children in the evening? We've got 2 boys who'll be 13 months old and 3 years old when we get married and we're not really sure what to do with them in the evening. At the moment we've just asked my mum to take them home when it looks like they really need their beds - i'm assuming it'll be around 9pm or maybe 10pm, but I can tell she would love to stay until the end of the reception, although she's more than happy to look after them and not drink. Anyone we trust enough to babysit would be invited to the wedding so there just isn't anyone else really! Apart from H2B's parents obviously but our boys know my mum better.

My 3 year old has stayed up til 10pm before and he was fine actually, so it's just my baby that i'm worried about. Don't know how he'll sleep in the buggy with all the noise (didn't sleep that well at a wedding we went to when he was 5 months old)! It's also a shame my mum won't be able to drink as she'll be driving them home (we only live 10-15 mins drive from the venue).

I'm making my own place cards and have just done a test one, but I'm not sure about my writing on it! What's everyone else doing? I think printing the names on is out of the question really as my printer is not great at the best of times, and the place cards are hammered card!
