Interior design advice please

Mr B and I have spent today painting the kitchen yellow, we're very happy with the colour.

We were thinking of (at some point) replacing the tile and floor and were thinking light green, now I mentioned this to my mum and she recoiled in horror.

Is it really such a bad idea to have light green with yellow?

I can't imagine it but I'd have to see the shades to make a proper judgement.

Maybe would depend what shade of yellow but it's not creating a very nice picture in my head! sorry
