Gosh - my life is so rock n roll!

Can anyone recommend their handheld mixer - you know the time for mixing cake batter rather than chopping stuff? Is the Dualit one any good or are you just paying for the brand?

Mine is a reasonably cheap as chips Tefal prepline one, and it does a fine job. I don't see hand-mixer/beater thingies the same as full on food processors, and you don't need to spend a lot of money to get something that does a good job (with food processors you generally get what you pay for, and it's worth paying more a lot of the time, though possible not for kitchenaid ones Laugh)

Ok, Mrs M, I blame you as I need to have that stylish Kenwood one now! Nearly £50 to mix batter...but it looks so lovely.....

I recently got a stick blender which has a whisk attachment - would that be more versatile than just a mixer?

It's very lovely, isn't it? Laugh Feel free to blame me whilst I live vicariously through your yorkshire pudding batter and cakes!

It's about the same price as the Dualit but I'm a Kenwood fan so would choose them every time.

    Sorry Flowery! Laugh

If it's any consolation, I want one too! I wonder if I can concopt a master plan to break the one I've got, act devestated and say the only thing that would take away the pain is to buy one of the lovely new ones? No, probably not. Weep

Now Sophie is making it worse with her talk of stick blender things.....I already have one but I could get a new one to match the soon to be purchased Kenwood hand mixer.....oh pretty things that match.....precious things....

    Mrs Magic:

I've got that one too - it has lasted me nearly 10 years so far.  If only I could find a blender which lasted so well!

I already have two (2!!) stick blenders. Who needs 2, I ask you?

My mum has the stick thing and whilst its good for blitzing soups with the main part of it or chopping onions in the chopper, I find the whisk itself fiddly to use as it's a bit cumbersome to get into a decent holding position in my hand.
