  • Teething & cold effecting weaning?

Max has been weaning for 4 weeks (he is 29 weeks on Saturday) and came down with a cold on Saturday and one of his bottom teeth is now visible. He has never wolfed down his solids (offered twice a day at the moment) but he now is showing no interest at all and probably only taking 1-2 teaspoons.

Yesterday he didn't finish any of his bottles (9oz) which he always does, though has done better today, not leaving as much.

Am I right in thinking this is cold & teething related?

Quite likely, henry has had moments of refusing and had days where he just hasn't wanted to eat anything at all, then a couple of days later he's as right as rain.

Don't worry about it, just keep offering and he'll eat again when he's ready.

B really went off her food when she was teething (and there were horror nasty nappies) - hang on in there, as Hitched says 'this too will pass'

Ollie started teething a couple of weeks after I'd started weaning and he refused solids for a week. I just gave him milk and left him for a day or 2 before attempting to offer anything else. When he was ready to eat he did. He did this everytime he got a new tooth for the first 4 or 5 teeth. He is now doing similar with his molars - except he'll eat breakfast and then nothing for the rest of the day.
