Trying to thinking about sleeping arrangements for the twins when they arrive (long way to go I realise)

I have read a lot about them sleeping together and they like to be near each other.

I was thinking about getting 2 matching cot beds.

They can always sleep in the same one to begin with? Until they start to annoy/disturb each other?

    Any Thoughts?

Firstly I just wanted to say huge congratulations - twins are great!

I have 6 month old twin boys and to start with they both slpt in one cot together they looked so cute and they kind of snuggled into each other.

Once they started to wriggle more at night we moved them into there own cots but we have kept the cots next to each other so they can still see each other.

    hope that helps

    Hi there, and congratulations!

Our two shared a normal sized cot until they were about 7 months old - they weren't big though, were still under 5lb each when they came home from scbu.  To start with, we tucked them under the same blanket, then next to each other, then top and tail.

When they went into separate cots, they were in an L shape - the only way they'd fit in the room. When we moved, we put the cots next to each other- but I'm not sure I'd advise this - around the age of 18 months they'd start somersalting into each other's cots!  Head first, very scary. Aged 2ish they went into beds - to stop the somersalting - and they share a room.

Mine shared a cot in scbu for the 2.5 weeks they were there and when we got them home they shared a travel cot during the day in the lounge (saved getting 2 moses baskets) and shared a cot at night but they tended to thrash about and disturb each other so we put them in separate cots when they were 6 weeks old but they are both next to each other and still are at 20 months old.

I guess we'll only separate them when they want their own rooms (they are boy/girl)

My two were in Moses baskets for the first four months. Then they shared a cot for about a month, but they soon started hitting each other on the head so we bought a second cot.

Get the two matching cots now, we weren't able to get a second one to match and it kind of bugs me!
