    names that 'go together'

When I dropped off Leo at nursery this morning, a dad came in with his wee girl and announced that she now had a little sister. The girl is called Florence Isabella (although is known as FIG due to her initials). Although I was running late and had to leave, I lurked for a while (ok ages!) just to hear the name Laugh... Clementine (Clemmy). I'm not madly keen but do think these names really go together. Also quite unusual for the area where we are I think.

You're right they do go together really well and I love both names.

Its actually really important to me that any sibling for E we have goes with her name, both in sound and origin.  Emily comes from Latin and my two favourite boys names do also AND have the same number of syllables so either will go really well I think.

One of my friends has a Leo and is pregnant again so will let you know what she has to see whether you think it matches well!

I know someone who wanted to call his children "Kevin" and "Keegan" as they went together well.  Well yes they do but as one man's full name not as two names!!

We're fairly sure Leo will be a one and only but I'd be interested to find out Laugh. The only other boy name we love is John so that would be that. The only girl name we really love is Holly.

They do go nicely, although I'm not a fan of Clementine - I have too strong an association with fruit!

I wanted a greek name to go with Alexander, but H didn't like any of them (I kept suggesting Philip, but he wouldn't go for it). I hope James & Alexander go well (and Alec & Jamie as they're the more commonly used names for them!).

Florence Isabella is a beautiful name! Love I like Clementine but not as much as Florence.

I love names, they fascinate me. I must seem a bit of a nutter having a not so short list of names for my as yet imaginary children* but I love thinking about names. I always read name threads on here too to read new names. A family friend is being induced tomorrow and I can't wait to hear what they call their daughter!

*My current favourites are Murray Charles and Isobel or Eslpeth (Elsie) Jane. Laugh

I always thought it wouldnt bother me names going together but we have considered using Theo as our boy's name, and we also love the girl's name Eleni which is Greek and they seem to go quite nicely should we ever have a girl. I dont think I could go on to use Eleni later if we went with our other name choice at the moment - Ronnie.

My beautiful boy Theo, here for one day only - some people only dream of angels,  I held one in my arms

We have Richard and Beatrice and I suppose the only way we thought they went together was because we like them....

However someone said "how very regal" to us the other day and I suppose they are!

Mine are Martha and Monty and I only hope that people don' think they 'go together' in a twee way - it simply wasn't like that when we chose them - I loved the one and OH loved the other and it just so happens we got one of each Confused
