Hoping for egg collection on Weds...

...fingers crossed

Scan this morning was positive although one ovary still obscured by my uterus. They don't think my follicles will be big enough by Monday, so booked in for what will hopefully be one last internal scan on Monday and then egg collection on Wednesday.

Only bummer is that due to my hidden ovary and off-kilter uterus the Dr has recommended a general anaesthetic rather than local as they think it'll be too painful under local

Struggling a bit with crampy, stretchy feelings in the ovary region today, so very glad I'm off work x

Good luck!  It seems to have come round really quickly.  I'm perhaps odd but I would prefer to have a general anaesthic if I'm being pulled around so I don't have to know what went on.

Lots of luck!  Think I'd prefer the GA too after having had one for other gynae issues recently. x

Good luck, hope you have lots of big fat follicles! I'm a bit of a wimp so i think i'd prefer a general too, plus i kinda enjoy them, always give me the giggles when i come round! lol

I know what you mean about GA meaning you're just totally out of it, but I get really bad nausea with it and end up burping for Britain

Mind you, from what I've read, egg collection gives you horrific trapped wind so might just mean it's both ends affected rather than just the one

And I must stop Googling. Was reading last night about people who have 20 + follicles and only 1 or 2 fertilising whereas I've only got about 11.

Off to try and persuade H to stretch to allow me a bath this evening (in spite of the drought in East Anglia!) to try and relieve the crampy aches x

Good luck for next week.  And if you are having a GA you can plan a lovely last supper before you have to fast.  That was always my favorite bit before ops

I had all mine done under a heavy sedation, which feels exactly like a GA, but is less risky. Am wondering are you having the same? We all called it a GA, but strictly speaking, it wasn't. And you know what, it was bloody lovely! Each time I came round with a feeling of deep and wonderful relaxation. If I was able to go to a clinic and just have the sedation and no other treatment, you know, in the same way people go for a massage, I 'd do it like a shot. Hope you have the same experience! X
