  • Dreading today!

I am meeting my boss today in London to discuss PT possibilities.

I'm dreading it! Apparently me asking for PT came out of the blue so it's going to be awkward and uncomfortable Sad Plus my colleague who's got pregnant, had the baby and gone back to work all while I've been on ML will be at the event making me look even worse! (She went back after 6 weeks though, this is really unusual isn't it?!?)

I don't want to go, and more importantly I've not ever left N all day before Sad

good luck. don't worry about your colleague, I think she is in the minority Surprise she is probably secretly jealous that you have been able to spend time at home.

Don't worry! You are quite entitled to have taken the year off and Ned and you will have so enjoyed the time together - it doesn't matter what your colleague did, you did what was right for you and your baby. You are also perfectly entitled to request flexible working and keep that in mind. Ned will be fine today, he'll have fun. Good luck let usknow how you get on x

Good Luck!! Don't let it be uncomfortable or awkward, it's completely normal! I worked in HR before having E, and it was a common request from many mums. We also had a lot of women come back to work days/weeks after giving birth and tbh they were always the women we would keep an eye on the most. I guess it was just the industry I worked in, but once I had E, there was no way I wanted to go back to work FT either and am enjoying drawing our my ML by a few years Wink

Little N will be absolutely fine too  x

Good luck Hep! You'll be fine. Just keep remembering you are perfectly within your rights and haven't done anything wrong. Your colleague is in the minority. You've gopne abut everything the right way. If they don't agree on parttime you'll leave and you know and understand that.

How long will you be in London and where abouts? would be great to grab a coffee and say Hi.

I'm meeting him near Marble Arch KB3. Is that near you?

Hoping to be free by 1pm but who knows?!

It's taken me almost 2 hours to do a 45 minute journey. Another reason why I don't want to do this anymore!!
