IIRC I only had to take mine and H's passport.  They didn't even ask to see the baby and I had no documentation from the hospital to say I'd had a baby!

We didn't have to take anything with us to register either of ours.

I took all the forms the hospital gave me but don't remember taking my own ID.  Although I always carry some so they could have asked me for it but I don't remember now.  Best thing to do is check with them when you call.

we were given a bit of paper by the hospital to give the registrar, it was tucked into the back of the red book. When we gave her it she said she didn't need it as their systems are conencted to the hospital's so they can see that what we're saying ties in with the hospital records, the peice of paper is only needed if the system hadn't caught up, so if we'd done it quickly or perhaps if a home birth? not sure if that's just our area though

We registered Jonah on Friday and we didnt need anything other than his NHS number but I took the form that we were given by the hospital as it said on it that it can save time for the registrar to have it.
