  • OM's, Toilet Advice Needed...

On your wedding day, when you went to the toilet did you sit backwards on the toilet and if so did it make the whole 'weeing in a wedding dress' experience easier?

This may come under TMI, but any advice on doing a number two is welcome as well. Best to be prepared. Surprise

Backwards is the tried & trusted method!

Go into the loo facing it so that you can trail the dress out of the door. Keep Security on the door outside!!

Ha ha, sorry this made me chuckle. I didn't even think to use the loo the wrong way round, i just had to take a bridesmaid with me each time to hitch up the back of my dress for me (just enough so i had hold of it, not to give them a flash each time, lol) And thankfully no number 2's needed on the day!

OH GAWD! I never even thought about how I'll go to the loo in my dress. And I've got the smallest bladder in the world - there's no way I'll be able to hold it all day and night. I don't even know if I can sit down in my dress. Why didn't I check? More wobbles!

My sister who was chief bridesmaid made sure that the disabled toilet was kept free and everyone knew it was for me and my dress lol

She also helped me when I had to go, she stood holding my dress up and looking the other way.

OMG - never gave it one thought! I have a good bladder but... it depends on my sugar levels. i am diabetic and if stress makes my sugars high, I end up peeing every half an hour!!! On the other hand, I will need to inject my insulin 4 times throughout the day and night - shoulder i guess (although usually it's belly but there' no way I'll be lifting and holding my dress to do my injection)...

    Eeek...

After getting into my dress (which wasn't much before 2PM) I only went once at about 9.30PM!! Have to admit, I went the normal way, with no help from BMs. But then I didn't have a big dress or really much of a train to speak of! The one thing I did struggle with though was getting my 'suck-me-in' pants down and then up again Embarrassed They just sort of rolled up into a band around my ankles!
