I'll see your du's and raise you O's "aaaahhhhh"

Everything gets pointed at.....including my eyelashes, which doesn't always bode well for my eye balls Laugh

Oh Megs, Noah tries to stroke my face, which usually involves him clawing away at me, sticking his finger up my nose, in my mouth.... On a sweeter note though, he has started giving me a kiss when asked for when. Open mouthed, slobbery kiss, and a quick lick for good measure, but sweet nonetheless.

I am jealous of you getting kisses, I get a shaking head.  Or, he licks my face - strange baby!

We have mumma, dadda, nan-nan, byyyyeeee, bot-bot, and then dat. Dat with a point of the finger to everything. Like Kats T Louie tends to sit back and take it all in. I often wonder what he's thinking or more than likely scheming.

  • Re: My 3rd tri girls, what are your babies saying?

L isn't really talking at all, apart from making a barking-ish noise when asked what noise a dog makes.  She babbles a lot, but that's really it.  I was okay with that until we saw the paediatrician for her belated 12 month check up and vaccination and he said 'so, she's a bit slow with the talking'.Sad

Benny says mama, dada, jaja (the dog), rowrow (for row row your boat...), nak (snack) and neenaw (meaning his fire engine walker). I am sure he says other stuff as well as yesterday I think he said "door" so not sure how good I am at understanding. He understands lots like "we're going to brush your teeth now" and he'll head straight into the bathroom (loves teeth brushing, mad child).

We don't have any definite words here yet, but I'm wondering if I'm setting my standards too high and waiting for a word to be said very clearly and in the right context?

G says "da" when she's giving you something, "t-th" when we're going to the bathroom to clean her teeth in the morning, "baboo" when she sees her toy Haahoos and she often says Daddy. She also roars when she is playing with one of her lift the flap books that has a lion under one of the flaps. In the last couple of weeks though I do think she's got much better at communicating, but that's probably mostly because she's learned how to point to things that she wants and cry when she doesn't get them Laugh

We have similar - not with teeth but if you say "nap" or "bedtime" she's off up the stairs.. wonder how long that will last?

Mumma and Dadda, but those relate to a lot of things not just H and I. Ay is Jacob, Cat and Duck, shouted at full volume. Ta for thankyou and Dat for "that" with wild pointing, followed by screams and scretches when we don't get what he wants...which is most of the time.

I get lots of kisses, and stroking of my face, and poking of my nose which he thinks is the best thing in the whole world.

This isn't flying, its falling - with style

  • Re: My 3rd tri girls, what are your babies saying?

S is almost 17 months so maybe a but older than most here? I am shocked at how much she understands, we've realised in the past few weeks that we need to be super careful now about what we discuss in front of her.

The pointing here is combined with a weird 'uuuhh' noise that is so high pitched I can't even impersonate her.

She doesnt say a huge amount but for a while now we've had

    dada - meaning daddy (natch)

mammymammymammy (always 3) - which doesnt mean me, but is used as her cry for help really. Dont know whether to be pleased or p-eed off Laugh

    dung - dummy and

ta-too which is thank you and melts my heart!

In the past couple of weeks or so she's also got dog, duck, book and cheese. We also get 'boo-ooo' (playing peekaboo or bursting in through a door) and beep-beep (pressing noses kind of thing), if they count as words.

  • Re: My 3rd tri girls, what are your babies saying?

C doesn't stop talking - just in the last month he's really started copying everything you say - we have Daddy, Nana, Muma, Asda, tractor, car, moon, star, teeth, tea, cooker, clock, cat, round (as in round and round), swish, slipper, sock, shoe and probably others I can't think of.

MQ - I tend to take it as word if it's said in context, not just copied, and is fairly obvious, even if we don't get the full word.

Could that be thank you? S usues her ta-too mostly to request things, thanking us in advance kind of thing Laugh So she'll say it as she's handing me the remote control (i.e. thank you in advance for turning it over to something I want to watch) or maybe her spoon (i.e. this is yummy and I can't shovel it in quick enough, so TIA for feeding me!).
