    Eek Alaina! LaughIck!

As for the OP, absolutely NO WAY during the first month, let alone the first week. I think it was nearly 6 months at least before those kind of thoughts were a consideration. Mentally of course I was in no state, but even though physically I had a pretty good recovery in terms of getting up and about and getting on with things, I was pretty tender down there for months, and the lochia alone would have been a massive turn off.

  • Re: Can someone tell me I'm normal please?

Infact i'd be surprised if many men would want to go there (so to speak) so soon after their wife/ gf giving birth.

  • Re: Can someone tell me I'm normal please?

When one of ther posters on P1 has said they did it after 10 days previously I think its a bit rude to say that the OPs friends lying etc

I'm not saying the OP isnt normal, as a lot of people dont want to do it for a long time, but I think you are being harsh on the friend, as maybe she was feeling abnormal and just wanted affirmation herself that she wasnt the only one.

I havent given birth yet, so no idea how I will feel, but seen as how much the hormones in pregnancy have effective my sex drive (mine is quite high anyway but its loaded it up even more), I am actualyl really worried about wanting sex so early on, so whos to say this woman isnt the same?

JACK: Not for nothing, Jen. But it's only since you've been seeing a psychologist that I'm starting to think you may be in fact crazy. JEN: You wanna go to New York, Jack? JACK: Yes. JEN: Then shut up and watch the fish.

Let us know how you feel about it after the birth ss when you're bleeding with engorged boobs no sleep and need to sit on a rubber ring. You might understand why people have said what they have !

But just because one person feels one way, it doesn;t mean that everyone else is lying. There was one poster who said themselves they did it after 10 days, so I think its a bit rude to say everyones lying

You can emphasise with the OP and tell them they arent abnormal without saying their friend is or is lying, everyone is different

Nice to know you ladies can try and see outside the little bubbles of your own lives FFS!

and this is what, your example of how to be polite?!

I'm sure the replies of her lying were in jest, as was my last response to you, no one said the hitcher who did was lying. I think you will find the majority of women would find the idea of sex a week after birth pretty horrendous! When you realise the amount of lochia a lot of women lose post birth that is reason enough not to want to.

i think that was a little unnecessary SS.

The OP was asking if she was abnormal in not wanting to DTD so soon after birth and pretty much everyone agreed that there was no way they would have contemplated it. Infact the OP said her friend was 'up for DTD' rather than actually had done it (if i read it right) ...... to which i will simply say the mind might be willing but the body probably won't be.

No offence meant but until you have actually given birth I would probably hold back any comments on the subject until you know how you feel - mentally and physically.

  • Re: Can someone tell me I'm normal please?

god you are totally normal if my H had come within 2 feet of me with sex as his intention a week after birth I would have beaten him off with a huge stick, I had a c section so was sore, swollen and the lochia alone would surely put anyone off!

<TMI>   My god it's just reminded me of how about 3/4 days after the birth I had a huge chunk fall out that made me think the rare steak I'd just eaten had gone straight through me. I even called my mum to come and have a look as I was scared I was falling to pieces Ick!Bawl

  • Re: Can someone tell me I'm normal please?

Thankfully she's a very level headed woman and told me it was perfectly normal Laugh Gave me a fecking fright though I can tell you!

  • Re: Can someone tell me I'm normal please?

I had a normal birth, no tears, no stitches and a newborn who gave me plenty of rest but H was made to stay well clear for a good few months! Surely after a week you'd still be bleeding pretty heavily no matter how 'good' your birth Ick!

my bleeding was not really much heavier than a normal period - (TMI) i only had one clot which wasn't v big - and it only lasted about 2 weeks. I had been expecting much much worse i have to say!

I bled for weeks, 6 at least, that was after a c-section. I'm not sure if you tend to bleed more with a section or not though?

Over-competative pleb, whose comments should be taken with a pinch of salt at all costs Wink

People like that (I find) are usually trying to overcompensate to make themselves feel better about something.

Edited to say that we DTD after 3 weeks but it was scary and I couldn't really enjoy myself..
