Do you enjoy your job?

I love my job!!

I recently (July) left the big bad corporate world of Banking after 4yrs because i was s sick of stress!! i was so unhappy, crying on a sunday night cos i didnt want the working week to start not lseeping cos i was worrying and generally being stuck. It was good pay with ltos of benefits but thought that my health and happiness were mroe important so left and now work as a marketing manager for a smaller global construction compnay, theres only 25 of us in this office :)

was a big step taking a pay cut and was extremley worried my first month here but then OH got s anew job wth a pay rise that mroe then made up for my deficit!!

Hmmm... well... in theory yes... in practice no!

I work for a large global retailer in HR... my boss is a slightly mental (understatement) nutjob who can explode at any second! I come in everyday not quite knowing what to expect - mental good or mental bad?!

Have just finished a secondment covering for my colleague on mat leave who has just returned on 3 days so I am still sort of covering on the other 2 days... but my allowance was removed... am considering refusing to do it now!

H2B's job is contract based and so we rely on my salary mostly for bills and stuff. If it wasn't for that and the fact that I am planning on having babbies soon after the wedding I would be long gone! Unless I can find a really good employer who will give me full pay anyway, even if I didn't qualify... but we all know that is not likely!

In an ideal world I would be a top end Interior Designer and have my own art studio!

Ha! I feel your pain. I work in a different area, which I do enjoy, but my boss is temperamental and demanding, and I feel like I'm walking on broken glass a lot of the time. I do an area which is quite an easy area to cut when businesses need to save money so I wonder if it's a bad idea to move elsewhere. Plus H runs his own business and some months we're relying solely on my salary so I feel like I shouldn't be taking risks.

My lifeplan is to win the lottery and never need to work again.

I liked my previous job and was really sad to leave it )left to move in with OH in a different area) am still job hunting at the moment and its very depressing!!! fingers crossed a half decent job will come along in the new year!!!

Mine's okay tbh, it has it's moments like any job but on the whole it's fine. I work with my H and get on with everyone so that makes it more enjoyable.

I hear ya teehee. I used to be really ambitious and want to get really far in my career. Now the only thing I would miss about working is the money and I'm just waiting for the day OH earns enough to support us both so I can go part time or give up work all together (ooh look is that a flying pig?!)

Not at the moment, I don't.  I'm counting the days until I'm off for Christmas.

I know I'm lucky to have a job, but it's really wearing me down at the moment.

I can honestly say I know EXACTLY how you feel but hopefully it is just a temporary thing and we will find something better.

I hate my job, Im a sales rep and now, the only one, as the boss tends to fly off the handle and sack people with a blink of an eye so I now cover the whole of the UK and sometimes have to drive 400-600 miles a day just to go see a customer and then get home to yet another snotty email from the boss man...

I am however studying a degree in Counselling and also work voluntarily as a mentor to youth offenders (which is where I want to be when I have qualified) and this I absolutely LOVE and know that its my vocation in life to do this now and anything else would pale in comparison.
