  • Cervical mucous,KY,Preseed

Sorry for the Ick!Embarrassed question at tea time. I don't mean to put you all off your food.

The lastfew time H and I have dtd I have said to him that it doesn't feel quite right and I feel dry which is quite unusual at this time of the month. It is actually quite uncomfortable.

So I did a bit of research and it would appear that one of the side effects of clomid is reduced CM which can therefore produce a hostile environment for sperm.

(It seems I'm swopping one problem for another)

So obviously I'm going to need a little help in that department while on clomid. So is KY compatible when TTC or does it have to be preseed which is pretty expensive- Of course I will buy it if I have to but thought I'd check out the cheaper option.

    TIA

I am not sure whether ky is suitable for ttc check the bottle next time you see some, it should say on the back if it has spermicide in it.

    How are you? x

  • Re: Cervical mucous,KY,Preseed

Now I could be completely wrong but I thought that the only lubricant you could use was preseed. My understanding was that any other lubricant such as KY jelly block the movement of sperm whereas pressed doesn't.

Ah ok thanks ladies. I will get some in for next month.

KY doesn't contain spermicide, I've just checked the tube in H's cupboard.

    Ah, ok thank you GM.

Hmmm now I'm not sure what to do.

  • Re: Cervical mucous,KY,Preseed

I think sperm can move more easily in preseed than other lubricants.

Also heard that KY is a no no when TTCing.

Preseed and Conceive + are the two designed for use when TTCing - you can definately buy Conceive + in Boots, and both from Amazon and Access Diagonstics I think as well.

Preseed vote here! Got pg first month of using it - not saying it was "the" thing but may have done something!

    Good luck. X

<Faaaar TMI> Have been using KY for the past 10 months with no success, so have bought Pre-seed for usage this month. Am reeaaalllyyy hoping that it works! (we got pg first month last time using *just* CM, so wondering if the KY has been the problem?? Am clearly clutching at straws, but nevermind Laugh)
