I sent an item on 4th October Recorded Delivery and when I used the tracking service a moment ago it said this:

Item X was posted at X on 04/10/10 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.

Its my maternity allowance claim form so I'm concerned they haven't had it yet!

That does seem to suggest they haven't delivered it yet doesn't it. If you posted it on 4th they should have received it ages ago. Is there a help number you can call? Maybe the status has just got stuck.

Have you managed to shed any light on it at all?

I think you're going to have to check yourself whether they've received it or not. I get so many recorded delivery packets that are simply handed over. Therefore they aren't registered on the system as delivered, even though they have been. I know this to be true in other areas of the county too, as lots of my eBay parcels are "progressing through the system" yet the buyer has left positive feedback for the item!

I think phoning up and seeing if the intended people have received it.

Miss-I, it's really frustrating when you pay for a particular service and it's not carried out correctly.
