  • Budget Wedding that still has the Wow! Factor

    Hi All,

I am totally new to this site, so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We are planning to get married around August 2012, but i am really struggling with Venues.  I need somewhere in the Glasgow area (or surrounding) that is reasonably priced (the budget for entire wedding is £10k) but has the wow factor!

O lovely! There are loads of Scottish girls on here, and a good few from Glasgow!  So I would saythere will be plenty of suggestions!  I lived in glasgow for 5 yrs at uni and then working for a year, but that was 4 yrs ago so I'm trying to think of places!  What about the glasshouse at Glasgow green?  Can you hire it?  It is beautiful!!

Mrs Sproule since 13/10/10, and Sooooo Happy!!  Smile

We have booked Ross Priory for our wedding in October 2011 and their prices are reasonably priced.  It is a stunning venue to drive up to and would have the wow factor for your guests arriving.

I think i might have looked that up before...we will have around 80 guests during the day and a further 70 will be coming at night...is it a big venue?

I got married at Ross Priory last year - it is absolutely stunning and the staff were utterly amazing on the day but it sounds like it might be too small for you if you already have your numbers - think they can seat a maximum of 60 for dinner and contain a max of 90 at night (my number might be a bit out but there's no way it'll house 150 people for your evening do.)

Yay we are getting married at Ross Priory in July 2012 :)  I would definately say pay them a visit, it is stunning and right on the banks of lock=h lomond so the views are breathtaking :)

oops - missed this bit - the dining room seats 62 maximum, but they do have another room adjoining you could use.  The dancefloor area may be quite small for 150 people but you have use of the lounge area and there's always outside.
