Sorry to hear your sad news, but glad you got some lovely photos.

My nan died when Ruby was 4 weeks old and I didn't take her to the funeral (didn't want to have to take her out and miss the ceremony if she had started crying) but we took her to the wake after.  However, had she been older, then I would have taken her, various cousins took their LOs (mainly due to having to travel from around the country and therefore not having anyone locally who wasn't at the funeral to look after them), but it added to the service in my opinion, as all the great grandchildren were mentioned and it was nice that they were there.

My lasting memory of nan's funeral was sitting on an aisle seat and watching a rice cake rolling along the aisle (from my cousin's 1 year old sitting a couple of rows behind me), which made us all laugh, had my nan been there she would have been the one laughing the loudest!

Good luck with whatever you choose to do x Hug

Oh how sad.  H's grandad died just 5 days before D was born.  We didn't know the sex and he said we had a little footballer inside when we visited him in hosp just before he died.  I like to think he went and gave D a shove to come into the world (3 weeks) early.

As D was only a week or so old at the time of the funeral we took him with us but he slept in his carseat through the whole thing.  My nieces all went to the wake but not the crematorium.  There weren't many yound children there but it's a big family so perhaps that was a factor.

H's other grandad and indeed both my grandparents are fighting strong and I can't bear the thought of them not being here.  It's so sad.

They are lovely pics you have, lovely memories
