  • OT - ebay etiquette help please

I am a bit of an ebay novice. I sold something which ended on Friday, and have still not received payment. I gave the buyer the weekend to pay, then sent a gentle reminder message about paypal on Sunday evening. But still nothing. Should I chase futher or leave it a bit longer? I don't want any negative feedback, so wan to get the transaction sorted soon! All the other items I sold at the same time have now been paid and posted.

I think you have to give them a week to pay IIRC.

  • Re: OT - ebay etiquette help please

Did you state in your auction that you wanted payment in a certain number of days? I always put it in mine, eg payment must be made within 5 days of auction ending. This is a pretty common thing to do and helps to let the buyer know what you expect.

I usually send the invoice after a few days as a little prompt to pay but really you can;'t do anything until 7 days after the auction ends.

  • Re: OT - ebay etiquette help please

I would send another invoice and then start an unpaid item report if not paid for after 7 days.

I'll give them a bit longer then. Thank you ladies, I didn't realise about the 7 day rule.

Thanks for the tip Pip- I will put a payment date in next time.

Thank you all very much Smile
