Should I take her to the doctor or am I over reacting?

Last night before Imogen's dream feed, I changed her bum as her nappy was full and I needed her to wake slightly. After I changed her bum I laid her in my arms and as I did she made a really strange noise. I sat her up to try and help, it sounded like she was trying to swallow but couldnt, she wasnt coughing but she was gasping for breath, her eyes were watering and she was panicing. I was tapping her back laying her over my knee and smacking her back, I was panicing and then she shifted what ever it was. When I sat her up I noticed her nostril was wet, it was like water and it had a small bit of sick in it. I couldnt put her down then, I gave her her feed then and just hugged her for an hour, I didnt want to put her down I was so scared.

So is this normal or should I take her to the docs

L used to do this quite often as a smallish baby, she just couldn't get whatever it was up. If she is ok now and it hasn't happened again I wouldn't worry too much, maybe mention it to your HV next time you see her. If you are really worried you could take her to the docs but I suppose unless it is ongoing there is not much he can do.

We never had it with B, I think I worry so much as Imogen is so small compared to B. You are right though it is very frightening. Thankyou for your advice, much appreciated. x

I am no doctor and if you are that worried then take her, but unless she has a temp or is unwell it's probably just one of those things.
