  • Does anyone else sleepwalk/talk/dress!?

Hi, I have always been an active sleeper and have been known to walk around and even talk to people! I woke up really early this morning to find that I was wearing my tracksuit bottoms and cuddling my dressing gown!

For those of you who want a laugh these are a few of my 'finer' moments:

    - My OH once woke up to see me leaning over him with my hands over his mouth (qute scary), he tells everyone I tried to kill him!

    - OH saw me go into the spare room one night and the next morning he went in there to find every book on the bookcase stacked in a very neat pile in the middle of the room!

    - I once sat bolt upright on the sofa, eyes open and started swearing at OH's best friends when I fell asleep as they were playing on the X Box! Apparently they were quite scared till D informed them I was infact asleep! I also then decided to scream "ride me f**king sideways" and other filth which is something I would NEVER say!

    - D says I swear A LOT in my sleep and am not quiet about it!

Although people find it funny (including myself!) sometimes it worries me what I am capable of when I'm out of it! Does anyone else do anything like this or am I just a freak!!!? I've told D to put the vacuum in my hand next time I start wandering!

    Me! Always have done too!

    My 'best' moments:

    - I have put the plug in the bath, turned the taps on and gone back to bed

    - I have gone out to my car

    - I have walked out of the house on numerous occasions

    - I kept telling H there was a little girl by the bedroom door (which seriously freaked him out!)

Rae I can't believe you go outside!! I think the only reason I don't is because our apartment is 2 floors up! Looks like it's just me and thee who like to get around at night! ;) No wonder some mornings I wake up as tired as when I went to bed!

I <touches wood manically> haven't been out of the flat yet and we've lived together 3.5 years now. But yes, when I lived at home I went outside a few times.

The one where I got into my car scares me as it probably wouldn't have taken much for me to get in and drive once I'd opened it! That was after I'd followed my boss home one day and texted her to tell her she had a brake light out. Next day, car lights are mysteriously on when they definately weren't when I went to bed (am OCD about checking things are locked so always went out before bed to check it). And I find it's when things are on my mind that I sleep walk so was probably subconciously thinking about checking my lights.

Last time I went wandering was last week when there 'was a spider on my hand'. I remember furiously shaking my hand to get it off then going into the bathroom to turn the light on and make sure it had gone and that's when I came to and went back to bed!

I always feel exhausted after a night time excursion!

I hope I don't start leaving the house once we move! I'm not surprised the car adventure scared you as it's not like we're asleep...we must be able to see and pick things up etc but just not be aware of it!

I HATE it when I dream spiders or anything nasty is on my bed/me...I literally kick like a bucking bronco! Poor D has been smacked on more than 1 occasion! I have to get up and turn the lights on to make sure it isn't real. I get such vivid dreams too where I can wake myself up crying or convinced something has happened. Once I dreamed D had cheated on me and it took a good few hours to 'forgive' him and realise he'd done nothing wrong!

I agree that it's when things are on your mind, god knows what he'd done to pee me off the night I tried to "kill him"....!

-woke up with his car engine running, carport gate closed though

-when we lived above a pub (3 flats with a shared landing) he locked himself out without any clothes on.

    - when I lived in student house he pee'don my bedroom floor

    - he tried to predict the sex of his nephew, when sil was in labour. He got it wrong!!!!

Problem is, I'm thinking about it now! Playing on my mind and you know what happens then! Laugh

Don't do it Rae...we can beat this! Maybe we should think of it as exercise during sleep!? Must be burning off more calories than laying still, right?!

My partner sleepwalks/talks a heck of a lot and it really scares me, many nights I will sit there in tears after an episode and he'll be there snoring away!!  His main sleep-thing is animals, he always sees animals in the room, dogs, cats, things like that and you can see from his face that he is genuinely terrified at what he can 'see.'  He also thought that my sister was under our bed and that it had collapsed.  He's seen me lying in the middle of the floor and with my face cut all over.  I suffer from severe anxiety and so these episodes do not help me much!!!!

Oo-er, this whole post has given me chills! Interesting topic.

My step mum has locked herself out of the house completely naked before, apparently. She always says thank god it wasn't on a saturday night, with drunk revellers stumbling up the road!

Shnarfy1, I can't imagine it is much fun for the other person in bed! Do try not to let it upset you though, he has no idea what he's saying or doing! My hubby only tells me some of the things I say or do, usually I get "Well, you were fun last night...not!"! I dread what I say to him, thank god I have no dirty secrets although that's not to say I don't make them up!

It is freaky puddingbex, usually I look awake and he starts talking to me but when he gets gibberish responses he knows I'm asleep! I think his fave nights are those where I roll myself up in the duvet and he's there shivering because I've latched on so tight! I once woke myself up really frustrated because my pillow wasn't right and felt uncomfy....turns out I was trying to use his head as a pillow and I was crushing him although he slept through it!

It is scary how vulnerable you are when you are sleepwalking. Like Puddingbex said, things might have been a whole lot worse for her step mum...

BTW, no sleepwalking last night for me!
