hi ladies, been bidding on a few on the bay of e because I think we'd get loads of use out of it - sarah is too heavy for the forward facing sling I have and hurts my shoulders and refuses to go in the connecta for more than a few minutes (I think she finds it too restricting!) so thought a hip seat would be ideal, especially when we take her to the zoo for her birthday etc. But all the auctions say they hardly used it or that its practically new... it is just because the people that do use them don't sell them on or are they not much cop?

    TIA!

you would still need to hold her in a hip seat so i guess thats why they're not as great. have you tried her in the connecta with her arms out?

yup, she wriggles like mad until I take her out and carry her, front and back! could be a restricted view thing - she is soooo nosey! I figured the hip seat would be useful because I can carry her around without it hurting my arms seeing as I usually end up carrying her anyway!!

planning on trying the structured walking one in the next few weeks as we do a lot of hiking but I'd feel a bit daft wandering round tesco with one (if I put her in the trolley seat she spends all her time trying to turn and look look forward! ultimate in nosy baby!)

We've had a similar issue with carriers. We have a Deuter Kid Comfort II and it's great. He is only just into it as he needed to be able to sit up but already loves it. Although he loves having cuddles and being close he isn't a very tactile baby so the independence of a backpack type carrier works better for us. They aren't cheap though and as you say, not really for walking around Tescos with though my OH took him round the garden centre this morning in it.
