and is this what having children does to you?!!

I've had m.e. in the past, but this is different to the fatigue I felt with that. I just often feel tired and like things are too much effort.

Elliot sleeps through the majority of the time now, and I do get time to myself, but get really frustrated that I often feel too tired out by the evening to cook or other such things, hence why I cooked today's dinner at midday!!

    Anyone else?

Yes but then I always did before.

I think looking after a child is mentally draining, they need 11/12 hrs sleep a night for a reason!  Laugh

When you're mentally drained it affects you physically.

For example, Mon & Tues this week I've picked up D from SIL's then headed home and he's pretty much gone to sleep for 1.5/2hrs, no fuss.  I have loads of energy.

Today he did not want to go to sleep as he was soooo overtired and screamed and I was sitting in my bedroom in between going in and out of his room thinking 'I could go to sleep right now' but I had to make his dinner.  He didn;t really settle so had him downstairs with me where he continued to be grouchy because he was tired.  H is now putting him to bed and I'm knackered.

Absolutely. In fact you know the 'sleep when they sleep' thing everyone says when you have a newborn.... I still do it now he's nearly 2! Embarrassed

It was worrying me a bit actually as I just feel so physically exhausted all the time. I can't even blame it on him not sleeping as he's slept through the night since very young!

I find I can always sleep but then I always could. I do feel the difference though - especially when I've been really busy

Yes.  All the time!  I always tell myself I will have an early night but inevitably I end up either Hitching or doing my crafts.  It's the only real time I get totally to myself so I don't want to waste it.  I did go to bed at 9.30 last night but actually feel worse today.  Urgh.

I must admit though I am fed up of feeling knackered all the time too but resigned myself to feeling like this now for the next 18 odd years...

    Because I can...

I'm exactly the same!  I get a second wind once D is in bed!

I sometimes feel more tired if I start to catch up on sleep - I think I then realise how sleep deprived I am...

I do at the moment but it's 1st tri exhaustion. Before that I had spells of being energetic as F is quite a good sleeper. But I don't think I've felt properly rested or had a whole day without a spell of being very tired since falling pg with F
