  • uggs

so i am thinking of geting some uggs or ugg alikes

do i buy black or chestnut? (going for the short classic style)

i am wanting to wear them with jeggings and black leggings with coloured tops

also if anyone has them how waterproof etc are they if you spray them?

  • Re: uggs

I have the longer light brown ones, I wore them non stop last winter and can't wait to get them out again.  They are not at all waterproof I found to my dismay after going out in the snow in them, so I think they need to be sprayed.

oo thats good to know you love them are they the real uggs? as i am unsure whether to go for real or not (but better then the £8 asda ones so kinda middle uggs lol)

also is it ok for a 28yr old to wear uggs? now when i look around it seems to be teens wearing them have i missed the ugg boat?

  • Re: uggs

I have the real ones, I wore them so much it was justified.  They are expensive but I can't remember wearing anything else last winter.  They are soooo warm and toasty, in fact, I quite often wore them inside as well like slippers!  I'm 35 and wear mine with pride, another reason to get the real ones though as I doubt the kids can afford them.

ok sold! lol i am easy to convince lol

oh and just to clarify i was genuinly asking if it was ok to wear them at my age as i am a fashion wreckage lol and by the time i am in trend its time has passed of i am too old etc, didnt want you to think i was been off to anyone older wearing them, i read back and thought it may sound a bit off the way i said it

oh and you gals are very helpful but which colour should i get lol

  • Re: uggs

Ive got 2 pairs of real UGG's black pair and a light cream pair. I LOVE them and wore them for the last 2 winters...

I had them for christmas 2006 when they werent really popular so i rarely wore them then the following winter EVERYone had the cheap ones so i started wearing mine more.

When they start looking a bit sad from the rain etc i just put them in the washing machine, spray the black ones with a black suede spray and then just spray them both with a protection spray and they look brand new :o)

I would deffo reccomend real ones, they last much longer and they are better for your feet. Fake ones have a tendency to make you foot lean to one side as they are rubbish and unsupported... thats my PET HATE seeing scrubby kids in fake uggs that are all twisted and minging!!!

And ONLY buy them from a shop that is reputable that sells UGGS there are so many fakes on ebay, i cant beilieve people are naive enough to buy them!!

PS, i want the ankle ones, i might treat myself for christmas!!

Didn't come across off at all!  I know exactly what you mean, I'm exactly the same, I'm always the last one in the latest trend, hence me only getting my uggs last Christmas!

  • Re: uggs

Colour wise, I think if you are going to wear them with black leggings, you should get a non black colour so they stand out a bit more IYKWIM?

  • Re: uggs

Oh and your DEFFO not too old, my sister is 30 and she has a black pair of ankle UGGs and they look lush...

I would get black as i think they go with more and you can spruce them up with black suede spray, chestnut ones can get quite dirty in rain etc...

I like the look of the Cardy ones but have never seen then IRL . Anyone seen them ?

  • Re: uggs

    thanks girls

natty- yes i detest that slobby look, and when they dont pick their feet up either you here these shuffling feet behind you they remind me of the zombies in computer games schuttling up behind you yuk yuk yuk, oh an no i wouldnt get them from ebay either i think i will go to schuh or somewhere big for them

sazzy- yeah i have seen the cardi ones i always like them but i tried a pair on and i dont rememebr why i went off them but i think it was as they were just cardi stuff over the top of the foot, i know its obvious but i thought they would have the fluff inside too and they didnt which made me think they would get a bit cold and wet, having said that alot of people wear them so i am probably wrong lol
