congratulations jane, its an amazing christmas gift isnt it

it made christmas so memorable, it was full of drama and tears and his interfering ex but it ended magically,

getting married 25th september 2010 in runcorn town hall, i was a bit dubious getting married in a town hall, but when i saw it i fell in love with it, its a beautiful building and just perfect, then on to my parents home for canapes and champagne, then on to the alder club in west derby liverpool, its going to be very hectic as im doing the food and table decor and well just about everything myself, im a caterer and function planner and i cant bare to pay someone to do things im not going to love and it will ruin my day, my FH has been told its my day and he just has to turn up, lol.

did it all go to plan?

    Hi,

It was an amazing wedding and we planning and worked it all ourselves so I know how you feel.  Its how I ended up with this business as after my wedding I helped other friends out with their wedding.  I had to work on Christmas Eve and came home to find that my now hubby had been to Sawbridgeworth to pick up an engagement ring which he had designed for me, we went back for my wedding ring.  He had also bought a brand new vase and filled it with deep red roses and then proposed to me after picking me up from the station on Christmas Eve at around 2pm.

Typically no-one was home - I phoned family and friends and all were either down the pub or finishing christmas shopping.  The year went so quickly but we had a wonderful wedding.  The theme was Christmas reds, greens and golds.

Let me know if you want any help with favours, table decorations (although I think you'll have it sorted) or bridal gifts.  I'm sure everything will go to plan and you will have a wonderful day.  Funnily enough although we had a wedding breakfast we had canapes for the evening as we only had a few evening guests as all stayed for the day as it was a very small wedding at Leez Priory - I fell in love with this - google it - its a beautiful venue, very old and the architect was a friend of King Henry VIII!!

just looked at leez priory, its amazing and perfect for a winter wedding, your pictures must of been amazing,

my proposal was a little more dramatic, my fiance has a child who we picked up on christmas day to spend a few days with us, he had informed his ex of his plans as she always wants to be informed of any changes, so that meant we ended up driving backwards and forwards down the motorway on christmas day whilst she decided whether or not to let him keep the baby with us, meanwhile i hadnt a clue what was happening as he was talking to her in code, then the tears began, lol, we finally arrived at my parents house and had our christmas dinner, after dinner my FH gave my parents and sister a card each and gave me one telling me to look at the christmas tree where a small bag was hanging with my ring in, more tears, ended really fantastically with my fiance saying this is the year to be married im 25 in two days he's 30 so its a big year for us all,

so in september i'll become lara dickinson and i cant wait lol

Hi Amy, and welcome to Hitched!

I'm getting married at Letchworth Hall Hotel and they do a £3k package for 50 guests or a £5k package for 100 guests. Have a nosy at their website http://www.letchworthhallhotel.com/ although the packages aren't on there. Loren, the wedding coordinator, is really helpful.

Enjoy planning your wedding Big Smile
