o/t primary school place,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Anyone else waiting to hear if their child gets into your chosen Primary School today, really nervous, applied for the catchment school, but last yr lots of children in catchment didn't get in, none from the road i live in so fingers crossed this year will be different xx

He got in.............so chuffed because its a lovely school, the same my other 2 went to, (they're now in high school so couldn't get sibling preference) its also in walking distance where as the other 2 choices would have been by car.

Just hit me thouh, my last little one (pic of him on my avatar) is off to school in September

Glad he got in! Sibling preference doesn't always work though - my friend knows 2 people whose kids didn't get in to the school their brothers are at! Crazy isn't it - what are they supposed to do. Let one child be late one day, and the other the next?

Sarah, what a horrible situation, I had the same problem with my eldest two at the primary school before we moved here. The two schools were about 3 miles apart, boys were aged 4 and 6 at the time, didn't want to take my eldest out of the school he knew and loved, (assuming the other school had an available place for him) was going through a divorce and had moved house so they were already trying to cope with alot of changes, neither of them would have known anyone at the other school,   so i appealed the decision, along with about 7 others and luckly was given a place on appeal.

sorry to crash the tread,

we found out beginning of march. its the school we wanted originally. its the one my H2B went to.  but a few weeks after the application closed, we put my son in the nursery at the school down the road. We now have to appeal against the decision made to get him in the school down the road. We have heard through word of mouth that there are about 2 vacancies at the school down the road.

Have wrote a letter to the school today, so hopefully should find out soon.

eek, cant wait. Cant believe how fast my little boy has grown up!

i Know 4 yrs has gone by so quickly, my eldest is 17, now that is a real shock! lol
