    Sparkling:

Please don't flame me for the next bit but we weaned Eleanor at about 23/24 weeks and it really really really helped with the reflux.  I know it's a couple of weeks early but it was the right thing for us to do.  It might be worth considering it but I'm not saying do it.

I was going to suggest this too.

Sounds like things are really tough at the moment.

What is she like out of the house? Do you go to any mum/baby groups? Just wondering if they may distract her a little and give you some time out of the house.

Have you tried baby massage? There is a good article on it in this magazine (and my son features in it!) http://www.sproutsmagazine.co.uk/mar_apr10.html

I hope you find something soon. I would keep on at the GP/HV especially if things aren't improving despite medication etc.

thanks ladies.  She usually stops crying the second we go over the front door. Usually she enjoys being out in her pram.  she hates being in the car though and wil fuss until she can get out of the carseat.

I have good family support, but i dont want to leave her with anyone, i want to be near here when she is sad. i know i need time out, but i cannot leave her at the moment.

Hubbie and I are currently looking at her daily routine to see if there are any triggers.  we can pinpoint stuff, but it doesnt make any sense, such as she cries solid getting dressed in the morning.

    thanks again x

Have you seen a cranial osteopath at all? Just wondering if perhaps there is an underlying cause they can help with. I'm sure I've heard of it helping babies who hate their carseat, almost as though its a positional thing, am I making any sense?!

Poor you, Duck24 Hug  Its so hard when they are so unsettled but please don't doubt your parenting skills.

Would you consider trying cranial osteopathy?  It worked wonders for my girl child who was a very distressed newborn.

Hug What handbag says.  My little girl is 14months and i was in total despair, have just tried a CO and touch wood she's not so unsettled.  It really is worth giving it a go if you can.

All the best it's really tough but you're doing a fab job, don't despair it will get better.

Duck, the night feeding thing is meant to be because they're sleepy so less aware of the fact they're feeding/the pain. During the day they can refuse to feed because they associate the feed with pain.

We also weaned at 22 weeks on medical advice and it did help with the reflux, both in terms of him keeping stuff down and him putting on weight as he'd started to refuse his milk altogether.
