  • Does an active bump= an active baby when born?

    Just a random musing really.

I find that my baby is very active at night, from about 9pm till midnight-ish and then is generally quiet throught the day. Does this mean that we're going to have a night owl baby?

Did you find any correlation between the times that your baby was active in the womb and when they were born? Smile

I didn't get much activity at night but lots of hard movements in the day, I'd get tender spots where I was kicked! Izzy's always been good at night and is a real wrigglebum!

iInteresting question moomin and I look forward to seeing people's responses.

Mini Motti appears very active mid afternoon and from about 8.30/9 till about 11ish.

Isla used to have a really good wriggle and kick around 10pm (although this could have something to do with me finishing my evening with a nice cup of herbal tea and some chocolate Laugh) and now aged 18 weeks she is happily asleep at that time

Not sure that helps or not!

O wasn't an overly active baby in utero. He much preferred poking his bum out and wedging various limbs in uncomforable places to wriggling about. He'd always perk up a bit once I'd eaten though, but only for 10mins or so, and then he'd resume his usual behaviour of poking me in the ribs with his foot.Laugh

As it turns out, O sleeps relatively well at night, but is CONSTANTLY on the move during the day.

Noah never seemed to keep his feet still in utero and nothing has changed since he was born. He kicks pretty much constantly, awake or asleep.

Matt was very active in utero, day and night, and has been a very active little monkey ever since.  However, he has slept through since about 7 weeks so I've been very lucky.

R was really active in the womb, it felt like he was never still at all. Now at 2yo he is constantly on the go and still wakes at least once a night. With M she definatley had specific times (mostly at night!) when she would wriggle about but was certainly alot quieter in the womb than R was. M is now 5 weeks old and still has specific times when she wriggles (and screams) so i guess both of mine are similar to how they were in utero

T was active in the day as a bump but not really at night, he never woke me kicking as a bump and from 7 weeks he slept through give or take... hoever c was active day and night and often woke me during the night, his sleep was horrific from day 1, and even now at 9.5mths he can wake 1-2x a night

Gabrielle was pretty active in the womb, and she's unbelievably active now. She's never still. However, the midwife used to say she was a very chilled baby when she used to listen to her heartbeat, and she's so not now!

C was very active in the day and now he's out that's stayed the same, he hardly sleeps in the day (is currently on my knee gurgling away to the laptop screen!) but is great at night yey!

R was the opposite, active in the evenings and slept in the day.

As a bump Elliot would hardly move during the day, but start up as soon as I went to sleep. When he was born he would sleep all day, and wake up in the evening! He still doesn't sleep through now!

william was a really quiete baby in utero, hardly felt kicks and he didnt move much I even had to crawl at hospital to make him move for the scan but wouldnt, as it happened he is a really chilled laid back baby and set into a routine very well

This pregnancy is a different story, i get kcks all the time, mainly in the evening until midnight, I will see if it makes a difference as opposed to william when baby is born
