  • My pushchair has gone mouldy!!!!!!!!! HELP.

Bawl I've just got my pushchair (Silver Cross Linear Freeway)out of the garage to have a look over, in preparation for #2. I'm 17 weeks. It's absolutely covered in mould! I knew it wouldn't be in the best of conditions but I'm shocked by just how much there is on it.

How can I clean it off? Surely it's not going to be safe to put a newborn in even after cleaning,, will it still have the spors(sp?) on the fabric?

My Zapp went mouldy in the garage recently, so I scrubbed it with hot water and fairy liquid, then had another go with Cillit Bang. There is still some small mildew marks (red pushchair) but seems to be okay now.

I'll give cleaning it a go. I'm just a bit worried about the spores and making sure they are all off properly.

This happened to my M&P pushchair cover and I've not found anything to get it off.  I think white wine vinegar and bicarb of soda are meant to be worth a go but I've not got either and I never remember to get any.

My zapp cover also went mouldy but it was just on the surface so I bunged it in the washing machine and it came out fine.

Ok white vinegar and bi carb sounds like it could work. Thanks.

I used Cillit Bang on mine, didnt spray it straight on the fabric though, sprayed it on a sponge and the scrub it, then I washed it off with warm soapy water.  It did the trick

Mine's gone mouldy in the garage too :(  I wash everything with a mixture of warm water, fairy liquid and Milton sterilising fluid.

I took mine all to bits and chucked in washing machine at 30 with powder and vanish, came out like new! Wasn't sure you were supposed to wash it but it all survived!I
