  • I Picked a colour schems and have my wedding groove back

So after weeks of apathy regarding anything wedding OH and I have settled on a color scheme, It will be greens and gold/wheat/honey with vintage pinks and purples in the flowers.

In all honesty the scheme is fairly relaxed we arent having chair covers or anything so it is just about making sure the ushers best man groom etc don't clash with the bridesmaids.

However I now have my wedding groove back and have had a meeting with one florist at the weekend and 2 more a week on sat ( i love love flowers so this part is very exciting for me!)

That sounds like a lovely colour scheme. I think so far that's the only "definite" decision we've made - I wouldn't be surprised if we change our minds at some point but for now it's definite at least!

    drifter:
    greens and gold/wheat/honey

I did a wedding last month with actual wheat in with greens and sunflowers - the Bride had blackberries in too!

    Rainbow Florist

I love those flowers I actually have some photos of boquets with sprigs of wheat in them in my folder to take to the florist and I am thinking of having small bunches of what for my pew ends.

I was very tempted to go down the whole sunfower route but i love scented flowers so now thinking lovely country garden type boquets

Bunches of wheat with green leaves and tied with raffia would make great pew ends and wouldn't cost the earth either.  This particular Bride wanted something completely country/barn looking and her theme was sunflowers and wheat so we worked around that.  In amongst the other flowers were peonies, freesia and roses with some waxflower.  For the tables, she popped small hurricane lamps inside the ring.  You're right about the fragrance though - sunflowers don't really have a fragrance.  The ones I make are all artificial so wouldn't advise blackberries in a fresh bouquet or it would end up a bit mushy looking and some nasty stains on a dress Eek

Sherrie lovely photos i particulary like the bottom right it very similar to whjat I imagine.

I love flowers i think they will be my favoutie part of planning, smell touch colour lovely lovely flowers the first florist we met was brillent but want to see others too for quotes and ideas etc...

I love freesias, and roses and lizianthus and loads more flowers, we are thinking of having some herbs mixed in somewhere to and pots of lavender for windowsills.

Rainbow florist I love the idea of working some blackberries into the flowers but deafinately not the boquets although knowing me my dress will no longer be prestine by the time dinner is over.

you have hit it spot on with the wheat pew ends that is exactly what i have in mind it is only a small country church and i think flowers would look out of place on the pews/ benches
