WWYD to have a sweep or not!?

I've got my 40 week midwife appointment in a bit and have been having contractions on and off since Sun so feeling very fed up.  I'm assuming I'll be offered a sweep however it's my daughters 2nd birthday on Saturday and I don't know what to do!

If I don't have the sweep but go into labour naturally and miss her birthday it doesn't seem as bad as if have a sweep and it starts labour off and then I miss her birthday.  I really don't know what to do! 

Poor you I wouldnt have the sweep let nature takes its course and if it hasnt next week ask for a sweep x

Hmmm, I was desparate to have a sweep after being in latent labour for 48 hours, but in your position, I think I'd probably try and hold off until after your daughter's birthday. It sucks big time, you have my sympathy

I was thinking the same thing. I'll feel guilty if I have a sweep and then miss her birthday but if its starts naturally it won't be so bad.  I'm pretty sure baby will arrive on her birthday anyway but at least if I don't encourage labour to start I'll feel happier about it!
