  • Jewellery help please!

Hi! I am not great with matching jewellery to clothes and I have no idea what to wear on my wedding day! My dress is ivory/champagne, very slim fitting but detailed with lace, beads, and stitching (doesn't show up all the detail on the picture and it is darker in the flesh). I am having my hair up (like the pic but neater) and I don't know if I need a necklace & earings or just a necklace, not sure about a bracelet either! Basically I am stuck, not a clue what to wear! My mum wants me to wear my Nana's pearls but they're quite scabby and turning brown....any ideas would be very much appreciated!!? I have looked at some websites but I just don't know what will go and look right! (Sorry for HUGE pics!) Thank you x

    Hi NoviceBride,

This is my most popular freshwater pearl design and quite a few hitchers have ordered it.

    Or how about an illusion

You have loads of options with your dress so it's a personal opinion as to whether you want classic pearls or a bit of sparkle from Swarovski Crystals.

These designs use glass pearls and Swarovski Crystals

All designs above are on my website - www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk however I have heaps of new designs I can email you photographs of that aren't on the website just yet.

Everything can be adapted to suit and I mainly do bespoke work so creating different ideas isn't a problem.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't wear a necklace, earrings and a bracelet and it's certainly what I did for my own wedding last year but I kept my earrings really simple. Your tiara looks like it has pearls used so it would match in nicely if you incorporated some into your jewellery but isn't a must.

Any questions I'm more than happy to help - lynsey@lynseysdesigns.co.uk.

Gorgeous dress! I think a beautiful necklace mainly made up of pearls would look fab with your dress.  You could easily get away with a small pair of earrings or if you decided not to go for a necklace a larger pair of drop/chandelier earrings.

I don't think it would look too much if you had a bracelet but it would still look lovely without, it's an additional option!

Anyway, here's a few suggestions from my designs which I think would go well with your dress.  They can be made in any colour pearls at no extra cost:-

    Isabella

The necklace would look great and there is a matching bracelet and earrings in this design, pics attached below.
    Swarovski Pearls.

    Erin

The detail in this pearl necklace would go well with a detailed dress like yours.  There are matching bracelet and earrings.
Freshwater pearls and swarovski crystal with filigree silver beads.

    Amarah Necklace

Gorgeous detailed necklace with swarovski pearls and crystals.

    Luciana Necklace

Classic string of swarovski pearls featuring a beautiful clasp with a crystal centre.

    Evita

Swarovski pearl design with swarovski crystals.  Matching bracelet and earrings.

    Harriet

Swarovski pearls and clear crystals with vintage style daisy detailing. Matching bracelet and earrings.

    Anabelle

Pretty illusion necklace made with clear wire for a delicate floating look on the neckline.  Can be made in colours of your choice, for example ivory pearl/clear crystal.

If you go for earrings on their own, I would suggest the following:-

    Alyssa

Swarovski crystals, pearls could be incorporated.

    Niya

Antique style chandelier earrings with freshwater pearl and swarovski crystal.

    Elizabeth

Swarovski pearl, crystal and rondelles - ear posts or hooks available

    Beatrice

Swarovski pearls and sparkling crystal encrusted beads.

Here are a few earring designs that are new so not on the website

DSCF9423 - Click to view full size photo The second set have stones at the ear stud to give them an extra touch.

    And a new necklace

This is absolutely gorgeous on but the photographs do it no justice. It's made with Sterling Silver Diamond Cut Chain with Freshwater Pearls and Swarovski Crystals. DSCF8533 - Click to view full size photo It is really delicate looking and sits just fab so this might be a really good option if you were concerned that wearing a necklace, earrings and bracelet would be too much.

you could try cleaning the pearls or have them proffessionally cleaned http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Pearl-Necklaces Real pearls are such a luxury. However I also have some pearl jewellery here  http://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/pearl_bridal_necklaces.htm although this dress doesn't necessarily need pearls and I would suggest Cavalier http://www.3djewellery.co.uk/index_files/pretty_diamonte_necklaces.htm

I think go with a pearl necklace. Will go wekll with the beading on your dress

Bracelet is up to you really, maybe go for something quite simple like this. Its a little pricey but more just a bit of inspiration for the style.

I too have been given a pearl necklace from my great grandmother and they looked awfull however i took them to a jeweller and got them professionally cleaned and restrung for not a lot of money and they look like new....in fact i cant wait to wear them!!! Worth considering plus it could be your something old / something borrowed!!!

Im sure a local jeweller could give you a quote...

  • Re: Jewellery help please!

That's a gorgeous dress. Mine lace dress was fairly similar (biased? moi?!) and I just wore a very dainty string of pearls, pearl stud earrings, a "borrowed" pearl bracelet from my mum and a statement hair comb.

However, because you dress has some sparkly detail on it, I would go for mainly pearls with a little sparkle to break them up. There are quite a few examples on my website www.louloubelle.co.uk which would be suitable.

Grace - shown with glass pearls and AB crystals but available in freshwater pearls

Hope - shown with freshwater pearls and rhinestone balls

Sarah/Stephanie - a round rather than Y version of this combination of glass pearls, crystals and rondells

Candy - but with white/ivory pearls and AB crystals

And I made this design to wear to a wedding myself but it could easily be changed to incorporate ivory pearls and AB crystals and of course a necklace could be created too.

Any of the designs can be altered to suit so please do ask if there is a design that isn't quite right for you that needs some tweaking. At the moment I can also offer a free pair of earrings when a necklace and bracelet of the same range/design are purchased.

Please let me know if I can help at all or let me know if you have any questions - lisa@louloubelle.co.uk

Thanks everyone! Definitely giving me an idea as to what I am looking for! Beautiful jewellery HIBs! I may ask about my Nana's pearls too and see if they can give me a quote to repair them as it would mean a lot as she can only make it to the church part of the day (fingers crossed)!

Thank you again, will get my mum's and MOH's opinions this weekend and make a decision asap as then I can tick another thing off the list! Big Smile

    Thank You! Thanks
