    J hasn't done this at pre-school yet (he's 3yrs 8mths).  I'm assuming he'll do it when he's at primary school.

I remember the people coming in from the Tufty Club when I was at playschool (pre-school equivilant back then).  See if there are any of the old tufty club things on E*bay.

When we're near roads or need to cross I tell him what he needs to do, so 'stop, look, listen' and then ask him if he thinks it's safe to cross.  He already knows that when we're at a traffic light crossing he has to waot for the green man.

S has done some theory work on road safety at nursery (was around the 2,5y mark), but nothing practical, so we're still doing the look left-look right thing at home. She has no road sense at all though...

We have got this book and it is great - good pics and simple.  We do the "we stop, we look and we listen for traffic before we cross the street" mantra at every crossing now!
