we went swimming today...

... and sarah loved it! I was all geared up for lasting 10mins max in the pool but after half an hour she was still quite happily floating around watching the world go by!

Ah how lovely! Was it her first trip? I can remember taking our LO for the first time, she loved it!

yup first time! took me ages to figure out how to get into the poolholding her but we got there!!

Ah bless her - I take Ava on mondays and she likes it - makes her sleep really well! xx

We go on a Thursday before we meet the nct ladies for lunch - She sleeps really well after it.  We also start water babies on staurday - really looking forward to it

I took Isla swimming for the first time today. She lasted one minute before we had total melt down. I've never seen her so upset

It's not put me off going again next week, but I do need to get a baby wetsuit as I think the pool was a bit cold for her

Glad that Sarah enjoyed herself, I'm sure Isla will next week. She's been a bit grumpy and ill recently, so I'll put it down to that. At least she slept well this afternoon, so that was £4.90 well spent even if I didn't get to swim

Ahhhh, I'm yet to take G swimming but I did buy some swim shorts from M&S yesterday so we're all set now.  The local hotel pool is apparently quite warm so I think we'll make that our first visit.

the temp of the pool we go to is raised especially for the mum and baby session. Everyone was commenting that it was quite cold today but I thought it was lovely and sarah was fine in her wetsuit! She was the only baby in a wetsuit tho!!

Hoping it makes her sleep well - the last few nights her sleep has been pants - up every hour the one night!

So tell me how do you ladies 'manage' when at the pool? What are the logistics? Getting changed? Getting in / out? dry? I am a bit scared of taking baby CC for fear he wont like it / be too different etc etc etc.....

logistics were interesting, has to be said! Had my costume on under my clothes so I stripped with sarah in her car seat then got her sorted. As for getting into the pool, I handed her to the lifeguard (there is one in the pool as its the mum and baby session) got in and then got her back, then reversed the process getting out. Had a towel for her pool side so wrapped her up and took her back through. Got her dried and dressed then the plan was to stick her in the car seat while i got ready, but we have a giant fold flat car seat and it wouldn't fit in the cubicle with me! Its a mixed changing room otherwise I'd just have got changed next to the locker, but instead I lay her on the floor in the changing room on her travel changing mat which is waterproof - wasn't ideal but i was already quite dry from the time it took me to sort her. I had a dressin gown with me to wear as I sorted her but didn't actually use it!
