  • What time is everyone getting married??

    hi all,

we have found our venue and I have just tried to book the registrar....typically they are pretty booked up, even though we are eighteen months in advance - the choice was either 12pm or 4pm - I thought 4pm was pretty late and the whole day would go by in a flash.....so I went for 12, but now worried that its too early.  Will people get bored??  I am hoping that if we feed and water them enough it should be ok.  What does everyone think?

Hi Becca, The same thing happened we had to move our date from the 16th to 2nd as there were no slots and we wanted to get married about 2pm but now were getting married at 12.30pm. I think you will be fine! and your guests will be fine too!

  • Re: What time is everyone getting married??

i think 12pm will be fine - most weddings I've been to start around the same sort of time.  We're getting married at 2pm.  Was originally going to be 2.30pm but like you say - no slots left!  Ah well only half an hour difference!

We ar getting married at 2pm. I dont think 12 is too early, it gives people more time to have a good catch up (but less time for you to get ready in the morning Smile

12 noon will be fine.  Have readings to drag it out! Pics, meal, drinks it will fly by!

I dont think it's too early. We are getting married at 12.20 and sitting down at 3pm for food. I think as long as you have drinks and food available for people (as most will not have eaten since early on and 3pm is a very late lunch! people don't mind at all.

I'm only concerned about having enough time to get ready as venue is 45mins from my parents house where i'm getting ready!!

we're getting married at 2pm - I think 12 is fine though - just means you'll have to get up a bit earlier! I don't think it makes much difference for your guests - If they can make it down for a 2pm on the same day they can for a 12, and if they have to stay overnight they would have anyway iyswim

I'm getting married at 3.15pm, I'm sure 12 will be fine and just think how much longer your day will last! x

  • Re: What time is everyone getting married??

We wanted to do it at 12 but it will now be 130 to make sure I have enough time to get ready (hair and make up people only start at 10...).  12 should be fine for you, just make sure you will have enough time to get ready

  • Re: What time is everyone getting married??

We're getting married at 3.15pm.  I originally wanted to get married at 1.00pm but when I phoned the registrar (14 months before the wedding!!) the only slots they had left for that day was 12.30 or 3.15 so I went for the later one.

I wanted more time to get ready and didnt want to rush, plus I am not one for getting up too early!!!!!

We are 2.30pm but 12 is good- less time to get nervous!

Mine's at 12pm. There will be a gap in the day of around 2 hours so we're having that after the meal/speeches. This will give people time to check into their rooms, wander round the grounds or have a drink in the bar before the evening guests arrive at 7pm.
